NAIDOC Week 2026

Each year, NAIDOC Week offers an important opportunity for all Australians to come together and celebrate the history, cultures and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. In 2026, this week continues to highlight the strength, resilience and richness of the world’s oldest continuing cultures.

Held from 5 – 12 July 2026, NAIDOC Week will mark a significant milestone. This year’s theme is ‘50 Years of Deadly.’ This theme reflects on half a century of survival, resistance, cultural pride and achievement. It honours the generations of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples who have shaped the movement and recognises the Elders, leaders, artists, activists and communities who continue to inspire and lead the way for future generations.

While NAIDOC Week is a time for celebration, it also provides a valuable opportunity to reflect, learn and connect more deeply with First Nations perspectives. It encourages individuals, communities and organisations to engage respectfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, stories and traditions, and to build a stronger understanding of Australia’s shared past.

We invite you to take this opportunity to support NAIDOC week alongside our centre and to celebrate community strength, deepen your cultural awareness, and acknowledge the contributions of First Nations peoples, past, present and emerging.
